Inject Yourself with Anime Energy – Sympathetic World (Sasaki Sayaka) Review

Dec 19, 2011 No Comments by

To call myself a professional otaku is a lie. I’m nowhere near that, but I do love anime music for one simple reason: the energetic beats. The up-and-downs, the sentimental, supernatural or generically encouraging lyrics, all are responsible for my inevitable fall for anime music. To be even more otakuish, I get all worked up when listening to shonen anime music; they are engaging and reminiscent of the hot-blooded battles and dreams and faiths in shonen stories. To present you something great during the holiday, I’ve chose this newly released album: Sympathetic World by Sasaki Sayaka. (What a well rhymed name!)

This time I’m taking a different path, instead of writing tons of words that are less attractive, I’ll review each song individually.

Sympathetic World

Not a tile-up for anything, simply a title song. It sounds like a perfect candidate for a shonen mystery series.

Lucky☆Racer

Lucky☆Racer’s opening song. Lucky Racer is just another not-so-popular entertainment show, there aren’t even any results in Google. I think this song has more publicity than the show.

Universal Sky

PC Game “Uni.” ending theme.
I can’t say even one good thing about this game. Not to mention its low rating on amazon, it’s full of out-of-box stock materials. OK I understand that Circus is a small company, but the only things in here are the stock name Hatsune Peninsula, stock school setting with stock anime uniforms, stock characters like tsundere, blonde arrogant exchange student, silent and serious Asian class president, yandere classmates, and a bunch of other grab-a-handful characters from the 2D world. If after me saying all these horrible stuff, you still would like to know about this game, click this link to the amazon page and this link to watch the trailer.

Sena no Ripieno (星彩のRipieno)

Why so many dismissive titles? Sena no Ripieno is the opening theme of The Book of Bantorra, another anime that’s very much unheard of. But here’s the cheap simplistic PV:

Heaven’s Gate

One of the transition songs in PC Game Nanairo Koro. No success in finding it on YouTube so I’ll leave the opening video of the game here instead. (Not the same song)

Snow Ring

Nico Nico live streaming show Denpa Kenkyusha’s ending song.

Fly Away t.p.s

This is the best song in the entire album. It’s the opening for Circus’s game “T.P.Sakura,” yes you didn’t hear it wrong, the same company who made that crappy generic game “Uni.” as I mentioned earlier. This one improves the company’s image in my eyes a little bit.

The moment I gave up looking for YouTube videos I realized that this is going to be one of my worst reviews. I mean, after all, I can’t even find all the music videos. But despite my dry language and the overall lame tile-ups of these songs, music-wise I strongly recommend this album to anime music fans. That is all I want to say for this post. Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas!
